Scientific Name Squaliforma annae  (Steindachner, 1881)

Type Locality Guamá River basin, Pará State, Brazil.
Synonym(s) Hypostomus annae, Plecostomus annae
Etymology Squalis (shark) and 'form' is a reference to the shark like form of the fish.
