Re: Mystery Fish

Interesting case. This is not how suncats are supposed to behave. If you will, provide more pics to check it out better and/or tell us more. Does it feed? If it has appetite, that means it is not doing too badly.

Re: My Public Aquarium: exhibit blues - how to make them?

Haha... a cormy! A cory army. Thank you guys. It is tempting indeed. Problem is we ain't got enough tanks to cover our basic ops. When we do and have even a surplus of tanks, then we'll consider. For now, this remains but wishful thinking.

Re: It's a Mystery

Interesting account. Thank you. This is one of a hundred reasons why you should consider keeping monster fish. They are much easier to keep track of... with a smart scape, even without having to break up the tank or leaving your chair. And if one dies or gets out, you'll know pretty soon too. No pro...

Re: Two Auchenoglanis

I don't consider myself an expert at all. I have been working on a video for my channel on the species ID of the Auchenoglanis in earnest, having collected and analyzed couple hundred or more photos. I have been growing out 7 Auchenoglanis myself for the last 6 years - 2 are Congo/wittei, 2 are Auch...

Re: Want Flathead Catfish

In the last 12 years I came across two times of these cats for sale in the USA, both from private individuals, apparently, I assume, harvesting them from the wild. IDK how legal this would be or not. It seems there is no commercial source. If there was one, I'd be on it with you immediately. If you ...

Re: Hemorrhagic septicemia, any tips?

What?! Shocking! Thank you Darrel. I've learned something new and entirely interesting today :) Little fish releasing a toxin in self defense... wow. That probably badly complicates the shipping of corydoras.

Re: Help Identify my Cat Fish

It looks like either the fins have been removed by an accident, tank mate attack, or bad case of fin rot, etc. or it was born without them, an unfortunate mutation, is all. It also shows symptoms of lateral line erosion and hole in the head erosion. It is probable that this is due to malnutrition an...

Re: Hemorrhagic septicemia, any tips?

Hemorrhaging septicemia seems to often be the last step in a chain of afflictions. The fish turns reddish over large portions of the body, the fins turn reddish too. I am not vet but when my fish had it before, I'd say it wasn't contagious, but i recall some peers stating/believing the opposite. It ...
