Re: My Public Aquarium: exhibit blues - how to make them?

Of the sturgeon? No. Not for our use anyway. The sturgeon are lent by donation for lifetime and they and what they produce doesn't belong to us but to our gracious lender, the farmer. If we get that lucky, Mr. Mark Zaslavsky will decide what to do with the sturgeon eggs.

Re: sold as P. gracilis but I cannot be! Who am I?

I don't think I have ever encountered any CA catfish in my trade endeavors but Rhamdia quelen. This catfish is a fun, quirky, boisterous, and a smart weasel of a fish IME. I'd not trust it with any small fish that can fit in its mouth. When it comes to interaction with keeper or capture avoidance, t...

Earlier photos of the koi pond and yard predating this thread, from 2008 and 2009, can be seen here on the second page of this thread: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 3&start=20

I'll just repeat them here:

Re: What's my woody?

Out of the four galeatus we obtained when still in New York State 12 years ago, one is still with us. It's probably the smaller male (if our 12"-er was a female), perhaps around 6"-7", missing an eye - a work of a gar pond mate of 9 years ago. So the cat is around 12-13 years old. Doe...

Re: Maxillary barbels whiten and soften at the ends?

Ten years later, I still don't know about the Chrysichthys and Calophysus, except Bas was probably right, it was some kind of infection.

As for the channels - don't keep pacu with them! Pacu would bite their fins and barbels at will to supplement their diet.

Re: Jim "cbudz's" RTCxTSN hybrid

Nine years later. In retrospect, I am 100% sure the hybrid died of indigestion as a result of low DO, exactly as it occurred in the case of these RTCs: https://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=34778. When I said "plenty of aeration" above, I was rather clueless and inexp...

Re: Zungaro Zungaro aggression - experience?

A quick update. After tolerating 10 years of problems and bickering, ZZ had been adopted out a year or so ago. Zazula rules its tank now. Currently about 45".

Rarity indeed. Thank you.

There is only one photo in the Cat-eLog and it looks like of a specimen in breeding coloration?

Re: My Public Aquarium: exhibit blues - how to make them?

Thank you. IDK. These is our first significant experience with sturgeon, let alone the belugas. Maybe that the way they all are, or maybe that's the way the farmed ones are, quite used to human handling. Ever since we got them, they were never afraid of us whatsoever. Plus, they seem to be exceeding...
