In order for the cladophora to be an effective filter, it requires some type of flow to push the water through it (or at least over it). Eric-in the U.S., you can usually find debiliterra marketed at $20-$25 each and frequently see them 3 for $45 online. Same for L340's.

Should be able to tell almost immediately. Like as soon as they're out and about.

I think your best bet is to leave them where they are for the time being. Once they all hatch, the dad will keep them in the cave for a few days. At that point you can remove the fry to a safer place.

I've used a hang on breeder to rear ancistrus fry before. I just moved the whole cave in, dad and all. I wouldn't recommend this long term though.
