Male.
As an aside, he looks underfed. I hope you can get him into good condition.
Good luck,

Re: New Trichomycterus
The names are accepted as available because no one has bothered to investigate thoroughly if they are Code-compliant. This is exactly the same situation as for Glyptothorax chavomensis until we confirmed that the name is not available. Thanks. I appreciate getting to understand this process at a be...

Re: New Trichomycterus
There is a possibility that none of the names published in this journal since 2011 are available, since the names are not registered in ZooBank and the journal seems to be electronic only. This same author has been publishing like this before and has named several species that are considered accept...

The page for the species on these claim they can be sexed using the pelvic fins, stating males have extended points? Yes this is true. If you're fish are mature, I see only one fish with extended pelvic fins, although the difference is not dramatic in your fish (maybe not fully mature, or maybe nee...

Update on these fish: Since August, work and a little travel have been keeping me busy and I never got to tear this tank down until today. Sadly, there are no remaining Chaetostoma aff. microps. On the flip side, these Pseudopimelodus are doing well. They've all grown significantly, arriving in Augu...

I'm inclined to say L136c, but I know there's a lot of variation. Is L136c a tank-bred strain of L136 to make white spots bigger?

Re: Potassium permanganate and South Am. Species
Hi Pleko_Fur777,
I never use Potassium permanganate as a QT. It's a very strong drug and can be very harmful to fishes. I won't say I'm the best example of how to QT, but I think most people stay away from that because of its toxicity.
Cheers,
Eric

Trying a pond filter with fountain and UV sterilizer in 75gal tank
Growing in the aquarium hobby is a series of trials, successes and failures. Here's my next trial. Picked up this beauty with UV sterilizer tonight. This is going into my greenhouse 75 gallon tank that is chronically green with suspended algae. Let's see how how well it works.
