Re: Ageneiosus marmoratus synonym of A. inermis

Hmmm, that then is a bug. Will have a look at it. Great job on making the changes, went through smoothly!

A minor update, we've now sunk Brochis and moved them into Corydoras(ln8sc1).

Re: Ageneiosus marmoratus synonym of A. inermis

Looks good Eric, maybe zero out the size, but otherwise the "shell entry" is good to rename.

Re: Citations?

We could add all that information here but there are reasons for and against. The for is it saves COF money and would allow formatting to be improved. The against would be that it might upset the folks at COF, something I've not tested. Sometimes the Academic community are delighted if you properly ...

Re: Citations?

The latest taxonomic info comes from catalog of fishes, we don't use fishbase. I might be able to add a link to that source per species IF that's what you were looking for?

Re: Accidental hybrid or just an unusual looking clown ?

It's an unusual-looking old male clown. And on that opening line, I certainly open myself up for ridicule! :-)

I might have suggested it seems to be a bit stunted but given you seem to be keeping fish for a long time (well done!) I think just old.

Re: Any plecos I could keep a small group of in a 15 gallon aquarium?

Cost has already been discussed, but in terms of size for the tank L260 , L270 and L199 or similar smaller Hypancistrus would all work well. Consider an external filter and you'll be fine. None of these are wood-eating plecos, so a decent filter and good water change regime coupled with well-fed fis...

Thanks for posting HH. Any chance I could get a copy of the description or you could let me know at least the n spp. names?

Cheers,

Re: sturisoma aureum or panamense?

It's young, so it looks like Sturisomatichthys aureus but it will probably be Sturisomatichthys festivus and you'll be sure when it gets bigger.

This stuff is really good and I use it for various "dark mode" tanks. Not sure if you can get it, or an equivalent, in the US.

Re: Issues with supplier

It is odd though as these fishes are imported in large quantity bags, they're not often DOA being hardy fish, so you've perhaps something went wrong with one bag. It's always a risk shipping so many fish in one bag. All you need to do is drop it, a few fish die and then the impact on the ongoing jou...

Re: Help IDing loricariid

Looking at the shape of the mouth, this is a Rineloricaria. As to the species, could do with a few sharper pics, or the catch location. If it's a bycatch - what with? More info would help get to a closer ID for you if you can.

Cheers,

Jools
