Re: L397 male 10 years plus
I am thinking he is getting bullied at feeding since everything else is spot on!
I'm gonna move him to a fry tank & let him be the alpha again.
Thanks for mentioning he's not old. I was thinking 10-13 years old is pushing.
Anyone else have older L397 over 10 years?
Thanks for the messages friends!

L397 male 10 years plus
Hi friends this L397 is over 10 years old. He doesn't breed anymore.
I just noticed a sunken stomach and conditions & food are stellar & abundant!
Any advice for my old timer.

Re: L306 breeding advice
That sounds so sweet.
I been raising my babies from last year in a 40 gallon seaclear uniquarium.
Might just get a couple tanklimates and add some mesh to the holes.

Re: L306 breeding advice
Thanks so much I will definitely get some of those!
Looking for a ziss style that is huge for attaching to some of my larger tanks.
The tanklimate holes are to big.

Re: Driftwood from Alabama River
Well after soaking the wood for a few weeks I added to one of my tanks!
So far it's working great, no smell in the soak bucket either.
Soaking bamboo with that stinky water was a task!

Hi Eric one of your videos showed a ziss breeder box that looked twice as large as the usual ones for sale, was that custom made?

L306 breeding advice
My colony of L306 were not breeding. Water was 76.
I raised water temperature to 79 & in 3 days I have 2 batches of eggs.
Anyone explain the phenomenon, I was thinking lower water temperature to trigger breeding.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated friends!

Thanks Jools I have them soaking now outside.
What should I look for while there soaking? I was thinking if the water starts smelling bad and rotten.

L397 wild adult full grown orange
Hi friends hope everyone is well.
Has anyone else seen L397 adults with this striking orange?
Reminded me of the Irwinis with the orange hue on there bodies.
Anyone changed diet to achieve colors?

Started not wanting to breed a couple years back! He could be a little older than 10!
He stills messes with my other plecos and has his territorial cave.

Hi Shane your post makes my day! Thanks for the update.
I had a pump go out like that and both my gulpers got sick. I treated with stress guard para guard melafix and 1 month later they survived!

Ok, hopefully they will finally breed for you. I will have this as a long time breeding project. 😁 I will be looking forward to it good luck. I heard cool water with higher ph helps breeding haha but that's coming from someone that has failed and now they become pets taking up alot of tank space! I...

I added Ziss moving bed filters to a few tanks. I'm thinking about twotank mentioned about it not really adding much if you already have top filtration. I run wet drys and eheim 2080's full of marinepure. Love to watch it tumble. This weekend I'm gonna set up 1 gallon of K1 micro media in a swiss st...
