Re: L397 Aquarium Advice

Gold nuggets don’t eat algae.
I keep a variety of plecos in my discus tanks. 173s yellow chubbies, 397 136b/c
None eat algae - most are omnivores

I have never seen a pleco latch onto a discus or any suction marks on discus

Belief me, I despise what’s going on in Brazil.
But, are any of these observations statistically significant. Without such analysis the observations don’t mean that much

Re: Brazil wishlist

Brazil species will become extinct not because of commercial fishing.
Global warming and deforestation will take care of that long before overfishing.
Also, I cannot think of a single ornamental species that become extinct because of the aquarium trade

I only use heaters with a controller. Ink bird is a great, inexpensive one.
All heaters fail and a small investment safeguards.

Also, Chris, I was not commenting on how your fish look. I had just spent a great deal of time looking at the pictures on the internet, over the weekend, and this is why I brought it up. Clearly there are marked similarities between the images.

What an amazing experience I had with Chris, the other day. If when I die, and come back as an L173 or 236 I hope I find my way into one of his tanks. So many fish on eggs and so many fry scooting around. He is so friendly and knowledgeable I could have spent the whole day chatting with him. Unfortu...
