Re: Male female l046

To me all 3 of them look like males because of their wide heads and tapered body but I'm new to hypancistrus so I'd wait for someone else to chime in.

Re: L002 breeding project - Trapping after 3 days?!

Checked again today and I think I may have been a bit overzealous.

L002 breeding project - Trapping after 3 days?!

I bit the bullet and got a group of 5 of the fish listed as L002 Tuesday night. [url]https://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=50034[url]. I think they are indeed L002 but they have some interesting patterns so I don't mind them "just" being L002. The importer said the gr...

Re: L002? L015? Something else?

Anyone else agree that it looks like L169? Or thinks it's an L002?

Re: L002? L015? Something else?

That's a Panaqolus for sure. Not Peckoltia . To me, even accounting for the apparent juvenile size of the fish, the lines on the face seem to be very well separated, so I don't know if they are L002 . But then again, I haven't seen young L002 to know. Could they be L169 ? Cheers, Eric Thanks Eric! ...

L002? L015? Something else?

The importer from whom I got my L471s: https://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=49962 has updated his stocklist and this picture caught my eye. F0626ADD-BE78-4280-95E3-40D951C9EF22.jpeg He has L002 and L015 in stock but to me it looks too slender to be an L002 and the bars seem to...

Re: Thoughts on keeping breeding groups of different genera together

Corydoras atropersonatus are found in amongst leaf litter where the water is acidic, so be aware that although the will exist in a neutral pH, they tend not to be as resilient to disease and infections or be as sharp in colouration at that level. It may be best if you check on the water requirement...

Re: Sturisomatichthys aureus (royal farlowella) spawning/raising help

I've seen a few videos on YouTube about moving them with a credit card but never done it as I don't have any whiptails (yet).

Eric I think desskit wants to move them to protect them from the tank mates when they hatch.

Re: Thoughts on keeping breeding groups of different genera together

Thank you for your insight! Say I also wanted a group of Corydoras atropersonatus (saw on scotcat they can handle warmer temps) would that be possible on top of the 3 groups? Or would I be getting greedy. The tank's filtered with 2 HOBs rated for 50 gallons and a sponge filter. Thanks again for your...

Thoughts on keeping breeding groups of different genera together

As the title suggests I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience successfully keeping breeding groups of different genera together. I'm very limited in tank space and currently have a group of 5 L471s. I was wondering if in a 36"x12"x18" tank I'd be able to keep them with ...

Help with sexing L 471

Hello everyone, got bit with the pleco bug after getting a pair of bristle nose in November and was able to get 5 wild caught L 471. The seller said there should be 2 males, 2 females and 1 unsexed and it seems that way to me but just wanted to make sure.
