Re: A field-biologists photographic journal of fish and aquatic creatures

I am back, I am alive and with 0 freshwater fish photos in my memory bank..... BUT I got to see some cool snakes, which was our main target in Ghana and Uganda. Thus, not a fish related post, but these do have scales. So close enough :P I will jump back to aquatic wildlife in the next post, but I am...

Re: A field-biologists photographic journal of fish and aquatic creatures

I just have to, I can't wait.... About 30 min ago I finished up a photoshoot of this amazing looking fish. We caught it in something called a Bongo-net (plankton sampling equipment) off the coast of Ghana. This here is a Stomias affinis, or Gunther's Boarfish. It belongs to the family Stomiidae whic...

Re: A field-biologists photographic journal of fish and aquatic creatures

During my first cruise up in the Barents sea it was not the fish that took me by surprise, but the invertebrates. The colouration and pattern of some of these species were incredible especially when thinking about the usual brown to grey colour-palette that we see in much of the waters adjacent to t...

It is highly cool, please take many pictures. :-)

Re: Catfish Photography

No catfish in the catches so far, but plenty of other cool species. Raja miraletus, Torpedo torpedo, Acanthurus monroviae etc etc. But those are lower forms of fish compared to the all-mighty group of piscis this forum is dedicated to, right ;P So here is another species from the previous shoot: The...

Doing another species today in anticipation of the next catch, and this is one I've photographed before. But when I saw this specimen in the tank I could not let this prime individual pass without posing as a model for a quick shoot.

Re: High Quality Photograph of Corydoras

Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase a poster or unframed print of a high-resolution photo of Corydoras catfish? I haven't made anything that is for sale yet. I am planning to make some posters and test soon that will hopefully be ready sometime this fall. But have a squiz at my photo...

Re: Catfish Photography

I am currently sitting at the Research Vessel Dr. Fridtjof Nansen some 90 nautical miles off the coast of Cote d'Ivoire. If we are lucky with what we get in the catches, and what I see ashore, I might be posting images of wild catfish and habitat in a month or two, although snakes and reptiles will ...
