Brochis splendens spawning

I have recently bought a small group of very large wild caught Brochis splendens, and they are gorgeous! I am in love. They are close to spawning, but don't seem to get there all the way. I have bred many corydoras species, so I have a few tricks, but are there any tricks to make them spawn that is ...

What sex are they?

I have four beautiful Hemiodontichthys acipenserinus, but I am not able to see what sex they are. I know what to look for, but am not able to see the difference anyway. Can anyone see something from my pics? I hope the pics are good enough. They made an impressive speed when I tried to pick it up an...

Corydoras narcissus

I think this pic is not a narcissus. The nose is wrong, and so is the pattern on it's body. That more spotted body is more like a CW-006, which I think this pic is of.

He has settled in a bit more now, and isn't so pale. He eats well too. :-) Here are two pics of him today.

Re: ID on a new catfish

No, I don't have a location. I bought it in an LFS while on holiday, so I have no way of getting one either. They didn't know what species in the LFS. I must be the only fish keeper who has brought her fish with her while camping in a tent in the mountains (for only one night though). :)) Luckily I ...

ID on a new catfish

I've bought a new catfish this week, and I can't find what species it is. It's about 20 cm (8'') and grey. I wonder what's going on i their tiny little brains these days. They've spawned again today. :icon-eek: That's four times in a few weeks! :happy-jumpgreen: Those cories that only spawned once a year at the most!

Re: Cories with Large Plecos?

I keep cories together with plecos too. But if you want to breed the cories, you have to pick the eggs out of the tank, as the plecos love eating eggs.

Eggs, fry and eggs again

A few weeks ago, my group of C-140 decided it was time to get rid of some eggs. They spawn no more often than once a year, so it's a rare occation. The two earlier times they've spawned, the eggs all went bad, and I got no fry. This time I was so ready to make it work. I picked the eggs, and took so...

Re: Finally I got the real thing!

I bought them from a shop here in Norway. It's called Aquamanias. He imports fish from South America, he is very service minded, and he has low prices. It's my favorite shop. I've bought many of my cory species through him.

Re: Finally I got the real thing!

Thank you all. I love them to bits already. I have great love for the larger cory species and for the species with long noses, so these are great to have.

Finally I got the real thing!

I've been looking for c. narcissus for a few years. Twice I've ordered the species, and twice I got something else (CW-36 and CW-06). Two days ago I could finally pick up some REAL c. narcissus. They are now i quarantine, and will be for a few weeks, before I move them to a bigger tank. Here they ar...

Re: Some picks of C121

I bought mine at Aquamanias. I think it was what was left behind from an order made by Mona. They are beautiful cories. But mine has only spawned twice, and didn't produce many eggs either of the times. I picked the eggs, but they all went bad. But if I get eggs from them again, I will try using Aqu...

Re: Some picks of C121

Lucky you! My group has only spawned twice during the years I've had them (it's partly my own fault, as they don't have a species only tank). And I didn't get any fry from the eggs. It's a beautiful cory, and your group looks nice and healthy. :D

Wow that's just fantastic!!!! I saw a pair of B. multiradiatus at my lfs couple months back, going for AUD$90 EACH!!! Didn't get them, and my biggest regret of the year Ouch! That was quite some price. I didn't pay that much. But I wasn't cheap either. Actually I didn't have money to buy them at th...

Re: I just have to share...

Yes, I'm surprised of their shyness too. They have a very different temperament than the b. splendens (I have a small group of them as well). I love all the brochis species. I don't know what makes me love them (except the size)I would love to have a group of b. britskii some day too, but they are n...
