Re: Synodontis eupterus aggression and tankmates
I have 4 Syno eupterus in the pond and they do not socialize generally, each hiding in their own space, even if it's just under their own bit of branch or in their own pipe. They are not outright bullying to each other but each go their own way. Had two in a six footer for a while and had same story...

Re: Clarias gariepinus
Enjoy your Batractus, sounds like you too have the marbled variety, which have unfortunately taken over, so finding the natural colour form is not so easy anymore. Good thing is that you should be able to sex them and even breed them, although getting rid of the offspring could be hard. Dont believe...

Re: Need help on identification
Very late in on this one but would be interested to know what it turned out to be cos what it looks like, it cant be, simply because of the location - a very young chrysichthys graueri, so next choice would be ornatus or clarotes laticeps a good call. Doesnt look like amphilius to me though, from wi...

Yes, looking closer I would agree. The eye is too small for anduzadoras.

Looks like anduzadoras to me , or hassar cat group, possibly oxyrhynchus, but could be wrong.

Re: Syno to ID please, 4.5"
Bought it for £10 as I thought at the time it might be granulosis, but had the same doubts since myself and now not sure between that and cross between granulosis and polli, since it had been brought into the shop by a customer. Only extra comment is that it might be quite an old fish, I have had it...

Re: ID this ambiguous Catfish, got this catfish from Peru
Bottom photo in original group is not an iheringichthys, snout too wide. Money on viallanti, but will only know really as it grows a little more. Bit like my sperata, which is turning out to be aor and not acicularis.

Syno to ID please, 4.5"
Took it as shop didn't know what type it was and don't want it, extremely active, even lights on but I have never been 100% on type.
Will try to get better photo , but it never stops!- Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:42 pm

Re: Can you id my pim
That's great detective work for sure. They certain started out like maculatus but certainly don't look like the fish in the video, although I had not realized just how many pim are undocumented.

Re: Hyalobagrus flavus
Try adding an internal "flow" of water. Mine seem to love darting in and out of a water current which was a huge surprize.i had forgot they were in there when i decided to breed the plecs and added the flow, but now i see them more. Fully expected them being still to slow water but nope. A...

Re: Fossil Catfish , tank mates , temperment , feeding ?
My pair currently live with a musk turtle and get on fine. Quite easy going fish, not agressive although sometimes disagree with each other. Feeding is easy as will accept flake readily but also like frozen bloodworm. As for the sting, i think these have something a little more potent than just a ba...

Young Koensis?
Problem with so many syno is the hybrids make it so hard to tell, and there are so many nice hybrids. Don't see many Koensis about though.

Re: Hemibagrus Juvenile differences.
Hi all, from my experience it will depend on what size you are talking as juvenile. I,ve owned a few of both H.Nemurus and H.Wyckoides going back over the past twenty years. I would say that i have never owned H. Filamentus BUT I had 2 albino H.Nemurus at 9" and both were exactly identical - ev...
