Re: Has anyone used fenbendazole/goat wormer for fish?

http://www.nationalfishpharm.com/ these are the people i have used in the past, if you can buy in bulk it will be much cheaper per gram that way. i usually get someone or two or three to go in with me on the purchase and break it up that way. amazon sells this in smaller amounts and they used to sel...

Re: Fish Quality

i can only speak for the states but i know here, most of the good local pet stores are gone. they have largely been replaced by places that are way more interested in selling cat and dog food than fish. the fish are frequently in bad shape, absolutely have to be quarantined and still often don't mak...

Re: Synodontis eupterus

i've got one in a big tank and the only reason i know i still have him is that i redid the tank a couple of weeks ago and got my annual look at him. doesn't matter some of are just fine being wallflowers and he's welcome to the grub and the space. I bought him because in the local store the people a...

Re: water levels

Additionally, why not give the fish more room to swim? why should they only have 60 gallons of room when there is 90 available? get an airstone or a circulation pump and fill it up! leave a little space in that tightly fitting cover. There are pictures of many tanks, plants have nothing to do with t...

Re: water levels

then you agree that it makes no sense (except in some really specific instances) to keep the water level low: if it does not matter where the water level is as long as there is a reasonable amount of space between the cover glass and the water surface - fill it up, more swimming room if a large body...

Re: water levels

PINPOINT® II Oxygen Monitor, there is always this for about 250.00, 217 euros but honestly it's easier just to add an airstone. i have used swiss tropicals products for years and they are good, aimed more toward filtration but will help out enormously with aeration too.

Re: water levels

yeah but with so many easy ways of facilitating the gas exchange does it really matter where the surface is? i'm not talking a quarter of an inch, half maybe. It's so easy to add an airstone, or a surface pump and get that surface moving I have a 75 gallon and a 110, same tank length and height and ...

water levels

I've noticed something that I find curious. Quite a few of the tank pictures show tanks maybe 2/3 full, sometimes even a little less. I've always wondered why. I understand that for breeding purposes the water level needs to be brought down, I've bred corydoras cats and have done the "simulate the m...

I know you said home raised but I have had excellent luck with wet spot. their fish are very high quality, shipping to NY would probably be like what I pay to boston, 35.00. I add other things and it's not so bad

CO2 regulator

I'm thinking of adding a co2 regulator to a planted tank I'm putting together. up to this point I've used both artificial and some real plants. I keep catfish and cichlids and so far the live plants have been largely the salad course. this tank will not have any fish that like plants( I hope). the p...

Re: What brand or where to buy cory safe sand

I use this stuff: CaribSea Instant Aquarium Tahitian Moon Reef & Marine Substrate, it's available at Drs Foster and Smith. It's 22.65 for 20 lbs, comes with pack of beneficial bacteria ( I don't rely on It so I don't know if it's good stuff) I use about only about 1/2- 3/4 of an inch. Corys are alwa...

decorus and nototus

I currently have one s decorus and one s notatus. until this point both have been in separate tanks but that may have to change. I need spine surgery and am trying to reduce from 15 tanks to just 5 or 6 large ones. This is my question: assuming enough hiding spaces can I keep a full grown decorus an...
