Re: Identification of seven Corydoras
Hello, they have moved into their final tank. Their color stands out better, hoping that this is sufficient for identification. https://youtu.be/DxSjXgqWJF0 DxSjXgqWJF0 https://zupimages.net/up/22/43/8t8n.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/43/g8mg.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/43/r3xk.jpg The fact th...

Re: ID of twenty Synodontis
Thanks that's what I was afraid of. So is it possible for them to reproduce? I don't want to release hybrids so I will have to separate the sexes if they are able to reproduce.

ID of twenty Synodontis
Hello, I continue the identification posts with, this time, 20 synodontis. The previous owner bought them as S. njassae. I have some doubts for some who have much smaller dots and for another who has very few dots (S. nigrita?). They are about 3 years old and measure between 7 and 15 cm. I also post...

Re: Identification of seven Corydoras
Here are other pictures of Corydoras n°3. The size doesn't seem to match C. delphax but the pattern seems to be the same. https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/yjv0.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/y5hq.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/bu6j.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/qydy.jpg https://zupimages....

Re: Identification of seven Corydoras
Thanks. I can take pictures of n°3 if it can help. For the last 4, they had just arrived so were stressed. I also take photos. We have big problems in France with the Corydoras. Many are imported under the wrong names (hence my many requests for identification). I just found an importer that seems t...

Re: Identification of seven Corydoras
Here are the last 4 that were sold to me as C. venezuelanus. What do you think ? They measure 4 cm for the smallest and 5 cm for the largest. I'm thinking 3 males and 1 female. https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/pvr0.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/w1k1.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/42/mw20.jpg htt...

Re: Question about l010a
They reach their adult size around 2 years old I believe. I gave the size at 10 years because we are sure that the growth is over and that gives an idea of the long term.

Identification of seven Corydoras
Hello, I need your help again for the identification of 7 Corydoras (and sexing if possible). Here are the first 3: Corydoras n°1: C. ambiacus male ? About 7 cm https://zupimages.net/up/22/41/se55.jpg https://zupimages.net/up/22/41/l74g.jpg Corydoras n°2: C. leucomelas female ? About 4 cm https://zu...

Re: Hemiancistrus L200 sexing
Hello, thank you for your reply. I found another specimen last week. I don't know his age, he must be 7-8 cm TL. He may be a little too young to be sexed. I still took pictures to try. He looks a little skinny to me, but maybe he's just a male? Unless I overfeed my fish which is possible. Thanks for...

Re: My Platydoras is too big
They can surprize their keeper. I once had them combined with some 30 male platys (Xiphopphorus maculatus I mean) which went well, untill it did not: One morning they were all disappeared. And, I'm certain, the Platydoras were very happy. Suddenly they realized these fishes were eatable. I'm intere...

Re: My Platydoras is too big
Ok, so I'm going to limit his meals as much as I can. On the other hand, I don't really have the choice of feeding the little corydoras at least once a day. I'm trying the frozen food tonight, I hope the Platydoras won't touch it. If he eats there too, I would have no choice but to put him alone in ...

My Platydoras is too big
Hello, I just changed my Platydoras tray and when I caught it I realized that it was just huge! As in the old tank I fed the ancistrus fry twice a day, I think he did not hesitate to take his share... He is now with young Corydoras, which are fed mainly frozen (beef heart, daphnia, homemade pâté). A...

This is TL size.
She is a well-fed female (who should perhaps go on a diet by the way) so there is indeed little change that she touches there but I preferred to be sure before trying it.

Platydoras and young corydoras: possible ?
Hello, following a problem on the aquarium of my Platydoras armatulus, I will have to move it to another tank. The main question arises at the level of cohabitation. I have another tank of the same size in which there are currently a hundred young Corydoras which measure between 2 and 4 cm. If I put...

Re: Tank biotope congo for Synodontis nigriventris
Hello, I come to give you news, the baccalaureate is finished! The emerged part still lacks development (I'm waiting for the anubias to gain volume) but the water part is done. I added, after the photo, Anubias barteri but I have a doubt on the fact that they grow given the little light they receive...

I took the 3 in photo (I had a doubt about the individual asking question). I have observed them and the pelvics seem to be pointed. Thanks. So here is the last one. As he is very fearful and does not fall into the trap I set, I only have a medium quality video. I hope it will be clear enough for you to give me an idea of the species. It has a slightly yellow stain (not visible on the video) which is not very pronounced (not as m...

Re: Identify three Corydoras species
Hello,
as I don't have more answers for the first one, I will post pictures of those I will buy (ambiacus giant) in order to be sure that they are of the same species.
Here is the second corydoras: about 4 cm but young (about 1 year). Ambiacus too?

Re: Platydoras armatulus or not ? And behaviour questions
Thank you for the photos. The difference between the two species is quite obvious when you have the two next to each other. If I understand correctly it is supposed to be nocturnal. So, could this change in behavior be a sign of illness or a problem? The light is filtered with water lenses so the br...
