Do a search for "frontosa factory" in Google. Anthony Tu has spawned S. polli and is selling the offspring.

Re: confession time: worst fishkeeping screw ups! come on folks we've all done them!
I almost killed a hotel maintenance engineer... I was working on a ~300-gallon saltwater tank in the lobby of a Holiday Inn hotel and spilled a couple gallons of saltwater on the floor. No one told me the power supply/transformer for the hotel elevator was directly under the aquarium on the level be...

Dave Rinaldo - Winner!
At the All-Aquarium Catfish Convention 2014 Fish Show the judges' assistant (me) made an error and did not see Dave's spectacular entry, Leptobotia taeniops , in the Loaches Class. Dave's fish should have won, especially considering there were only two other entries in the class. This is the fish he...

Re: what was the highlight of CatCon for you?
I can't believe the hotel let people do this (think of the possible water damage, etc.). That's awesome! Not only let us - They give the occupants extra tables to set up their stuff! Plus, they let us put all the catcon folks on the 2nd and 4th floors so we don't have to deal with any noise complai...

Re: what was the highlight of CatCon for you?
That's the point, isn't it? It's great to have fun at a convention, but what's really important is the knowledge and enthusiasm you take home to your own fishroom. The new fish you want try, the new tips for the fish you already have, these are the things are really valuable long term.

Re: 2014 All Aquarium Catfish Convention
Who's on the fence as to whether they want to come? Who's coming but hasn't registered yet? I spoke to some committee members last night and apparently we have more people registered at this point than any previous catfish convention! This means that this might just be the biggest, best, most fun ca...

That was a fragmented and nearly useless reply... Sorry! I don't see them on the Federal list (first web link above). They may be banned in one form or another on a state-by-state basis, like they are apparently in Ohio. Check with your state natural resources department to find out if they are lega...

I suspect this is being generated by a recent state ban in Ohio:

Re: Should hybrid or bred forms of Plecos be given l-numbers
If any fish is going to be traded it should have a consistent identifier. For pleco hybrids I don't know if it should be an L-Number or something else but at least we'd all know what it was. It's going to happen whether we like it or not so we might as well have the chance to see it identified in so...
