Re: ID please?
I suppose it is a S polli, since the fish in the picture was 'classified' as S polli in the previously mentioned topic

Re: ID please?
Thanks for the input Trent. Their body, mouth, etc is very similair to the fish in this topic http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26993 The only difference in length is that my fish are around 7 - 8 cm and the ones in that topic were 15 cm. The colours of my fish, meaning the...

Re: ID please?
Most fish in the picture are, as mentioned, S lucipinnis ;)
But there's one bigger, with different markings, bigger/wider mouth, orange teeth.
And I've put one in a close up picture, hoping to show it better.
They are physically very different from my 18 S lucipinnis

Re: Lophiobagrus brevispinis
Not really,
last friday the ball opened up and some eggs fell out.
The loose membrane is still under her belly and she's full of eggs that she's still carying.
She seems to function normally

Re: S. lucipinnis combined with....
Oh no, sorry, there's a few Tanganyika cichlids in there aswell ;)
But the multi's are going to move to a tank of their own, but there will, most likely, be a couple of L. meleagris in the large tank to replace them ;)

Re: S. lucipinnis combined with....
Hahaha thanks mate! ;)
I'm not very confident with combining P. typus with my shelldwellers.
But I must say I am truely charmed by them aswell ;)

Re: S. lucipinnis combined with....
Thanks Richard for the info.
If I decide to add some brevi's in my tank I'll make sure it's the brevi and not the other one ;)
Is there such a big difference between those two species?

Re: What's this next to P. typus?
Looking at the species in the tank I'm guessing there might be a little salt in this tank: Tanganyika Mastacembelus, L. brevispinnis, P. typus, N. brevis (Tanganyiak shelldweller), Stiphodon(gobies), Mudskipper, a small frog and some other , for me unknown, goby species. Altough the frog being there...

Re: What's this next to P. typus?
According to Wikipedia: Threadfins are silvery grey perciform marine fish of the family Polynemidae. Found in tropical to subtropical waters throughout the world, the threadfin family contains nine genera and 33 species. An unrelated species sometimes known by the name threadfin, Alectis indicus, is...

Re: S. lucipinnis combined with....
Obviously I will make sure there will be enough spaces for the little critters to hide. I'll try to create a Tang catfishheaven for them   My biggest 'worry' is.. wouldn't my S. lucipinis 'overrule' the L. brevispinis with his behaviour? The latter seems to be such a calm species. So I'm ...

Is there a possibility to combine S. lucipinnis with L. brevispinis or maybe P. typus in one tank?
In a natural Tanganyika tank that is ;)

What's this next to P. typus?
I was just searching the internet for some pics of Lophiobagrus brevispinis and I stumbled into this pic. Does anybody have an idea of what kind of fish is beside the P. typus? I'm guessing it's an Azian catfish, but which one......??? http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac1/tijn79/rarities/Phyllonem...
