Re: Wild Caught Zebra Plecos
I purchased some WC a few month back from a very reputed importer here in Canada who assured me that the L46 were legit and not smuggled. I was also offered another lot of WC L46 from the same importer a couple of months later but did not purchase the second lot. This means that there was a legal wa...

@Fundulopanchax76
That fish looks like a L306 to my untrained eye. Certainly not a L397. I'll let the experts chime in on this.

How to identify L397s .....
How can you easily distinguish a L397 adult from L002, L169 and L306.
Are there any unique characteristics that only L397s have. What should one look for in a L397?
Thanks in advance for your help.

@Narwhal 72
Hi Andy - My bad. I got it mixed up Just posted it as lots of folks in Canada and the US are looking high and low for L397s at a reasonable price. If you are ever in Toronto, just give me a holler. I'll give you some L134 F1 fry for free. I have a big group of 17 L134 breeders.

Re: As mentioned before... the L236 "identification" game
I know very little about L236 but checked out a group of L236 that was on sale just yesterday. Except one, yours don't look very much like the L236s I saw yesterday or the pics I have seen on the internet. With so much mislabeling going on with L236, it is important to know the source where it came ...

Can someone please tell me how to upload pics to a thread in this Forum. Thanks :) @TwoTankAmin - Why each person pursue a particular fish can be for very different reasons. Why an expert like you pursued L236 and why an absolute novice like me was interested in them are vastly different. What matte...

Re: Do you actually find L236 in the wild ???
Thanks for all your comments to my post. I am little bit wiser on this subject thanks to all of you'll. Yesterday I checked out and adult group (3+ inches) of 10 L236 Glaser. They are the offspring of the L236 Glaser group that was first imported to Canada. Both the seller and importer/breeder are k...

Do you actually find L236 in the wild ???
I have the opportunity to purchase a group of L236 Glaser. There is a lot of debate that the L236 does not actually exist in the wild and that they are actual hybrids of other L species like L333/L066 that have since been line bred. The L236 is being referred to by some as a 'fancy' pleco. To add to...
