So what your saying it will take time to neutralize, I will try to keep my tds count stable between 50 and 60 I really need it to go down to the low 5's. On the butterfly plecos the ph influences the incubation time of the eggs if its to high they hatch prematurely. Thanks for the massive reply slow...

Finally got a RO filter going did my first changes did small 30% changes My L168 tank tds is down to 60ppm GH1 KH 1 but the ph is still stuck at 7.6 how long before i can expect it to stat dropping? how closely related are your breeders? might be that they are inbred so much that the genetics are weak

Spring is allmost in the air.....

With only a couple of weeks before the start of spring. I have limited time to rescape some of my tanks including my L134 tank, last year my males were flirting but the females were simply not interested, my question is do I leave it as is or can I rescape and remove some ancistruss teenagers?

I think the hardest part is to get that first spawn,once that's done they will keep going. Hatching eggs and raising fry different ball game

Mine live with a bunch of different plecos and eat everything i give them to eat including shrimp and zucchini slices i have had mine for about 16 months give or take they grow slow some months faster in others mine are kept between 82 and 83f

You can look at African sharptooth catfish as a bulletproof option as well grow relatively fast,eats anything can cope in high density, can handle a lot of different temperatures, and can survive low oxygen levels

i do manage to nurse a couple of fry to survive im hoping that once they are big enough to spawn that they will do better in my water than the wild caught ones

well the species is Dekeyseria brachyura incubation time is close to 10 days mine hatch around day 4 to 5. my temperature is around 26 degrees Celsius ph 6,8. my friend that keeps them in Australia is having the same issue of them hatching premature only thing we have in commen is the higher ph.
