There is only a single full body pic on the paper.The specie is small (less than 5cm SL - holotype is 47,2mm)and they produce a very small amount of relative big eggs.

I had this beauty some years ago.It was very peaceful and unique small panaque.
Unfortunately it was imported accidentally so there was only one of them.

The other thing that bothers me about the large Panaque is where they lay their eggs. This is in fact the case for the large Acanthicus so why not be the same for the large Panaque's????

From what i 've read L203 is Panaque schaeferi...what do you think?

I am really confused about the P.Titan...i have to read more carefully....The Armbrusteri is crearly the sp.Tapajos as already mentioned....

2,5 years ago my large 50cm Acanthicus broke the first (hard) ray of his dorsal fin after a drop from a tank relocation.
After 4 months no one could spot any damage on the fish.i guess yours will be fine also... :-BD

Tropical's Pleco's Tabin...it is simply the best...The diameter of the tablet is 25mm(!!!) so it is perfect for our big monsters....also it has wood and 36% spirulina!!!!!

Can you explain based on which characteristics you identify this fish as 'L182'?

The fish in the pictures clearly displays reddish/orange hue on it's fins which is not a characteristic of A.Puntactus.

Photo is poor for a proper ID but judging of the mix of spots and bars id say they look like hybrids....

It is difficult to tell but i think of Panaque sp(l204) and not Panaque albomaculatus . i am trying to dig up some pics of my old group of Panaque albomaculatus in which none of the fish had even a single stripe....In your case the fish has visible stripes at least in the tail which is not the case ...

FLAGYL 500mg 1 capsule per 50 lt for 5 days or any other Metronidazole based medicine.

You can use ofcourse any aquarium medicine that covers the same symptoms like Waterlife's Octozin,API General Cure...etc.
