When typing a post, click on the "Full Editor & Preview" button under your typing field, then look for a tab underneath labeled "attachments."

By the way, do you know of a good hosting site for photos that does NOT replace them with their logo these days? Sorry I don't (I don't use image hosting sites, except here and I post on FB as " Bekateen's FishRoom "). But people can upload images directly here. And if they do it, the pho...

Re: F1, F2, F3... SO confusing!

This is actually one I don't agree with in any form. There is no way to know if the wild-caught parents are from the same lineage or not. Not all fish are migratory, meaning they will make their home right around the same location where they are hatched. The chances of breeding with their own paren...

Re: F1, F2, F3... SO confusing!

Very interesting observations and question - what you're really seeing is not different appropriate uses of the F1, F2, etc., terms, but people using the terms incorrectly to suite their own purposes. In fish as with rabbits as with birds, etc., there is a technically correct usage for the terms, an...

You're breeding pantanalensis? That's great. Not many people get them to spawn! :-BD

Do you have any breeding report details or photos?

Thanks!

FYI, maybe it's my internet provider's security settings, but I find nothing (no website) if I use their username plecocrazy and dot com.

Is there a different URL?

There is the Wiltshire Plecos group on FB that used to be so active, but now I think I'm almost the only person posting still... and I'm not in Wiltshire.

Hi Nonsense,

Welcome to Planetcatfish!

You're right that this is a common pleco, probably Pterygoplichthys pardalis or Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus.

Re: Pleco identification help

Hi Mizcreant, Welcome to Planetcatfish! Your fish is definitely one of the common plecos, Pterygoplichthys pardalis or Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus . It has some resemblance to Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps , but doesn't look right. Watch it as it grows. Its pattern will become clear soon enough. Chee...

Hi Jon, Welcome to PlanetCatfish! I'm in the USA, so I'm no help for you. There used to be a very active group of Wiltshire pleco breeders, even holding their own "day" with speakers at a local fish store. But alas, from what I know, many of them have had life changes that have slowed them...

I am always amazed at the size of your tanks and fish. Imagine how many corys could go in one of those tanks! :))

Thanks for sharing.

Re: It's a Mystery

I've had that same "fish disappeared but no bodies found" problem many times. In one case I found the fish behind a Poret Matten filter. All of my Mattens have the return pipe safely above the water line by at least 1/4 inch, but somehow this fish must have "swam upstream" into t...
