19th February 2012 - Upgraded "Most popular article" page
All~
As part of the gradual upgrade to the more modern "look and feel" of the site, we've now updated the articles by popularity feature. Apart from cosmetics, this also introduces the "user ribbon" to the page - that's the bit with the user control panel, PMs, View your posts, My Cats or My Aquaria links and things.
A link to the article popularity page was in the CotM dropdown menu on all pages but wasn't widely known. Furthermore, I've updated the dropdown menus to include links to this page from the Shane's World and Book review sections.
Now we've got most of the different page types proven with the new layout/features, with a few exceptions, Mats and I are working through the site using the dropdown menu options (left to right) to be the order in which pages are upgraded.
Cheers,
Jools

I get a blank page in the "articles by popularity" link and in the CotM dropdownbox.

Same, although I don't get the drop down menus from the iPad, and can't find a link on that page.
Cheers

Once again, a weird caching issue. Cleared the cache, works fine (as it did when I tested it).
As to the drop downs KG, strictly speaking that's not a bug, it's just that the dropdowns require hover-over capability and iPad (indeed touchscreen devices) don't support that. Once every single page in the site has been transferred over to this new layout then I will fix that...
Thanks for the feedback chaps,
Jools

Cheers for the re-cache.
I realise the hover over thing is not a bug, but what I should have said was that I had assumed that the subtopics that appear in the drop down menus will all appear as links somewhere on the page that shows when I click the Menu.
Yes that looks like more gibberish from down under, so let's say menu item cotm has the subtopics "abc", "def", "ghi". I had assumed that if I just click the cotm menu (link) then I would find the associated links "abc","def","ghi" somewhere on that page.
Cheers

Hi KG,
Yes, that makes sense. I'll have a look at it but it might be a while...
Cheers,
Jools
