Are they Malapterurus electricus?

I think they are electricus. But Shopper said that they were “sp” and can’t be concluded as “electricus”. So I need your help!

I'm still pretty sure of the ID. There are several new(ish) species of , but most are not exported. Do you know which part of Africa they came from?

There are other Malapterus 'sp' that look similar to M electricus, like a catchment location or country of export would be a help in narrowing down which species your catfish is.

Upper one’s location is unknown. The others are from Nigeria.

All I know about upper one is they came to my country via Dutch.

I can see new information (to me) is that these are not all the same individual fish. Caudal fin pattern is an important help with ID as well as location as Medaka says.

For me, the top one in the image is M. electricus. The other two, if they are different, then we need to see more pictures of the whole fish.

Thank you for your help. I’m now sure that upper one is electricus.I’ll post new pictures of the others later.
