Corydoras Identification Please

I bought the following Corydoras catfish from Aquahome in Leyland, Lancashire. I was told they were CW090, but once I got home and searched for them it became clear they were not CW090.

Please can someone identify the lovely catfish for me?

Is the nose a straight nose? If so based on these pics, I suspect . Better photos of a clear side view would be helpful.

Thank you so much Eric, it really is very much appreciated.

So am I to take it the fish doesn't have a CW number and the shop simply got it wrong?

Amandajanea does not have an assigned C-number or CW-number, but there are a number of C/CW-numbered corys which look similar.

Peruse the photos on these pages, paying attention to the numbered fish. You'll find several near matches.

Again, thank you very much for the info Eric.

I love the little darlings already. I paid £60 for 4 of them.

They are a pretty species. Another tip, if you don't mind - corys are schooling fishes. Their natural behaviors really start to show if you can make a group of 6 or more (personally, I like at least 8 and preferably over 10). If you can a few more to add to your group, I think you'll like the results, both for the health of the fish and for the visual displays they create when you watch them.

Enjoy! Cheers, Eric

I would have bought more but the 4 I got were the last ones they had. I'll ask them to get some more in. I'll also tell them their proper name haha.

Keep in mind that the store probably used the same name that their suppliers gave them. So even if they know the right name (which would be helpful for customers), they'll still need to use the incorrect name to reorder. And IF... if the import was a mistaken identity, then it's possible that next time the store gets a shipment, they might get the other species (the species they thought they were ordering).

Good luck,
Eric
