How cool are those? I've never seen corys like them in a LFS (and I've never heard of sunshine corys).

From your photos, does seem like a reasonable ID, although I don't know if there are alternative species to consider.

Congratulations! Good luck with them. :-)

... P.S., on a side note, only 3? Did they have more? If so, consider getting them if you have tank space. You're not likely to see them again soon, and I'm sure the three you have would like to run in a bigger crowd. :-D

Cheers, Eric

Nope Eric grabbed the only three they had.
Same LFS that "made up" my little "Chocolate Catfish" lol.
They got a MONSTER shipment of catfishes in these past couple of weeks. Plecos, whiptails, all kinds of cory cats, hog-nosed Brochis cats that were over 4 inches long, just incredible specimens! I was dying! If I only had room! =P~

Hi,

Corydoras sanchesi is extremely unlikely, those come from Suriname and there are barely any fish exports from there. Even if so, the prices are so high that those will never end up in standard pet shops as they are just too expensive. However, I also don't really know where Ian's cory actually came from (named cf. sanchesi).
Any idea from where yours came from ?

Cheers,

Cheers,
Unfortunately this store, while it has a HUGE selection, relies on mostly "common" names 😞 so no I have no idea. Staff is nice but not terribly knowledgeable. The one girl is very nice and helpful, the guy got pissy with me when I asked if they had any Queen Arabesque ("We just got 60 different kinds of plecos in!"...yes, did you get any QA was what I asked 😒).

Thank you for your input. Unfortunately the smallest one passed away but the two remaining corys look healthy.
