Cory species

LFS just got these in, He thought they were Punctatus. All of these had some black on their body right below the leading edge of the dorsal. They're only an inch+ in size so still young. Opinions welcome and appreciated

Corydoras(ln9) leucomelas

. Almost never properly ID'd by either exporters or LFS, because apparently they are very common in South America, so exporters don't want to gather them but always end up getting them anyway.

That's a shame because they are actually quite a nice-looking little species, and if more hobbyists and LFS owners knew about them for what they are (vs. calling them punctatus, etc.), perhaps there would be more demand for them by their own name.

If you bought them, enjoy them; and keep your eyes peeled for more, to give them a nice social group.

Thanks Eric, I will pick up a group of 8 and see what happens. Tamed Waters in St Paul always gets in some fun stuff.
