Plecos ID?

Post by Lina »

Hi, would someone be able to tell what these Plecos are? Black one was labeled as L020 polka dot, which is clearly not. Two others labeled as L056 chuby Plecos, but have a doubt, that they might be LDA046. Any thoughts?

I think your black spotted pleco is . The pale spots are relatively uniform in size (slightly smaller on face) than I would expect for , which has notably smaller spots on the face.

I don't know about the chubby.

Cheers,
Eric

At first I thought it's inspector, but didn't know anything about L501, it looks more similar to that one for sure. Thanks!

Heho

The grey one is Parancistrus aff. aurantiacus from Rio Tocantins, it's often sold as L 56, but is something completely different. See here if interested: https://www.ig-bssw.org/again-and-again-l-56/?lang=en

Agree on the other one being L 501.

cheers

Thanks a lot! I kind of had an idea, that the seller doesn't have best knowledge in plecos as L239 was sold as Chubby at first :D
