Synodontis njassae?

Post by Minato »

Hi al,

I'm new here and I hate to ask this in a first post but can you guys help me identifying these syno's for me? They are being sold as wild and this is the first time they actually look pretty close to the pictures I see here.

Kind regards,

Minato

Looks like 1 of them is definitely not a njassae but the others look a lot. Anyone's thoughts?

Looks like a solid ID to me. I considered the bigger one might be but the shape of the adipose fin and the humeral process seems to indicate it's just not a very colourful individual?

Thank you for your reply!

It should be a direct import from Malawi 3 years ago. About that darker individual, he also seems to me alot more bulkier and triangle shaped.. not as slender as the rest of it..

Also compared to the foto's here, i'm missing those tiny tiny spots they have on the head/atound mouth and eyes. But I don't know if that says something or not?
