I got this guy a while ago as a contaminant in a Schwartzi corydoras batch, and since then I've been seeking for similar tank mates so he can have some buddies.
I got some bronze cories but they looked very different. The loner cory is muddy light grey with black markings, yellowish fins and a muddy grey line followed by a single black line again on his back. He also has a very stubby face, like the one you'd find on a dwarf cory. He's about 2in long and haven't grown at all in the past months, staying a bit smaller than the Schwartzi's.
He looks more pinkish in the pics since I'm using a warm yellow and red light and it is a blackwater environment, but under a white light he's completely grayscale, except by his fins.
Is he just a cool variation of C. aeneus or something else? Thanks for reading!

Re: Help IDing wild cory similar to aeneus
Your fish appears to be a lineage 5 (C. elegans group) cory. It may be or one of the C or CW numbers related to it.
