<i>Kryptopterus cryptopterus</i>, though I must add that this is not the real <i>K. cryptopterus</i> (which comes from Borneo, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula), but a very similar-looking undescribed species.

K. cryptopterus was the name they were imported under at BAS, but they were doubtful. In the same aquarium they also had some other Kryptopterus that looked just like the regular Glass Catfish but finely spotted. The name of these is unknown, they were just imported as Spotted Glass Cats.

I saw some of these at the LFS. They were painted though. It seems like a lot of fish are starting to appear painted. Its a shame.

Ah. Hans and Ingo took some under the name they were imported under, Pseudotropius moolenburghae, I'll let them know.

How big do those pangasius grow? Are they smaller species?

These aren't <i>Pangasius</i>...they are <i>Pseudeutropius</i>, the Southeast Asian version of the African striped glass cat (<i>Pareutropius buffei</i>).
They are a schooling species (usually found in the wild in very large schools of several hundred individuals) that grow to only about 8 cm max. Somewhat delicate fish requiring good water conditions, though.

My nephew got a shoal -10- of those as well; they do fairly OK; on all kinds of food; we thought they were Neetropius taakree from the Cat-e-Log....

We didn't know about those other genuses as well!

After looking at a better picture of the same fish from Jools, I can confirm that they are not <i>P. moolenburghae</i>, but <i>P. brachypopterus</i>.
