Would this be Corydoras Habrosus?

Post by benny »

Hi guys,

Need help with Cory ID again. Looks like C. Habrosus, but can't be sure. Both fishes are about 15mm long. I have two of the orange type and one of the grey type in addition to the regular Habrosus. Maybe C. cochui?

Any advice or comment is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I am not so sure that you have C. cochui. Do you have any more pictures of them? the chances are they are all C. habrosus just showing colour pattern diversity.

coryman ....

putting the pics side by side does wonder as usual!

btw, is the body shape one of the differentiating criteria? or did it just happen that the second pic is a female?

could you advise us what to look out for?

thanks!

The picture of C. habrosus is as you say of a female.

The best way to tell them apart is that C. habrosus has 3 large dark grey/black blotches along the centre of the body and C. cochui has 5.
