The description of this new species is based entirely off of previously preserved museum specimens, and did not involve any collection of live specimens. Given the broad distribution of this new species (see map on CLOG page), is it possible that multiple local species are being swept together? That was my first concern, however the diagnostics of this species is rather narrow, so I can see how they do form a single taxon.

I wonder how close and are to this new description. The fins of the two entries in the CLOG do not appear to show the pale fins with 1 or 2 stripes which are diagnostic of the new species.

@amiidae, do you still have these? What are your thoughts?

Cheers,
Eric

Both seem a bit off to me based on eye size and adipose fin shape/colour?
