re Synodontis batensoda

Post by lfinley58 »

Hi,

In the text included with Synodontis batensoda is the following:

There is continuing debate as to whether this fish belongs in the separate monotypic genus Brachysynodontis or in Synodontis. Over the years, its placement has moved back and forth between the two genera. Until a phylogenetic revision of the three related genera (Synodontis, Brachysynodontis and Hemisynodontis) is done, we suggest continuing use of the three different genera and, as such, have placed this fish in Brachysynodontis.

Sorted, thanks, would be nice if this one "seesawed" out to being monotypic again, but then, I think, the authors would have to look at splitting Synodontis too.

Anyway, I've updated the species entries with the most excellent updates.

Cheers,
