Maybe nothing, but odd behavior of quick search

Hi Jools,

I noticed today that the Quick Search tool has developed an odd behavior when looking for L numbers vs. C/CW numbers that don't exist.

For the C number I tried (C200), the quick find previewed no images and the search said "no search results found." But for a random L number I tried L519 (which actually does exist but it's so new, that it's not in our catalog), I found several hits that have nothing to do with the real L519. I searched those pages for text that might create the confusion, but found none.

Maybe nothing to do about this, but I thought it was odd that the search would treat a nonexistent C number different than a nonexistent L number.

Go figure.... :YMPEACE:

Cheers, Eric

This is a doozie. So, it's because the common name ends with l and the common name ID number begins with 519. In these four it's something like 5192, 5193 etc. The way the quick find is coded was to ensure species with the same common name appear in quick find separately, all this is important, but it produced this side effect.

Anyway, I've made a change that fixed this. It was a bug in how we indexed data for the quick find, so another one squished!

Wow, I wouldn't have figured that out so quickly.

Thanks, Jools!
