Hi,

You've probably found this topic because you were trying to find a species using the "catfish quickfind" search box and clicked the "Can't find it?" link.

So, please reply and tell us two things. (a) What did you, exactly please, type into the quick find box and (b) a longer description of what catfish you were trying to find.

Cheers,

Jools

Agreed. Feather fin synodontis (S. eupterus) with lateral line erosion.

Is lateral line erosion harmful? I have cichlids in the same tank, is it something that can effect them?

No as far as I understand its a sign of a deficiency of some sort- its not contagious but other synos being kept the same way will probably develop it because they are in the same conditions

Why are are there multiple topics that have nothing to do with the OP?

Hi Dave,

This is an odd thread, but I think it's a catch-all for people who couldn't find a fish. WRT the last two posts, Halolady was trying to find the green dragon pleco, so she posted here (as requested in the OP), and I was answering her. IDK about the other posts prior to Halolady's.

With specific reference to the green dragon BN, I understand and fully agree with the principle followed by PCF to resist leaping at every new common name tossed around by breeders and retailers, just to make their fish sound unique and enhance sales. However, since the variety of line-bred strains of BNs has already garnered for itself recognition in the forms of several variants being listed in the CLOG (ABN, calicos, super reds, long fins, etc.), IMHO it seems worthwhile to acknowledge the existence of other very widely available strains and their common names, at least for these BNs. So I've added the green dragon to the common name list and to the "variant" list for .
