Impossible to make a post that tates time

Is there a way to fix the below?

A few days ago this happened to me once again on this site. I was putting together a longish post which contained links and quotes. I worked on it for some time. Then I hit enter and got the screen telling me I was no longer logged on and had to be for that action. This was not the first time for this. Because it is rare for this to happen and my brain is getting old, I forgot to highlight and to copy the post before I hit Enter. So I will accept about 2% of the blame.

I also visit and post on the MFK sites and the forums there have a nice feature. If I write a post and then do not post it, the site saves if for a bit of time. It saves it after I log out of the site. I can return and it will still be there. I am thinking the retention time is about a day.

Any time I have had the above occur here, I have never rewritten and posted what I had originally tried to do. It was a nice post about the Xingu and zebras. It featured a 7 month old, 48 minute vid from Leandro Sousa on zebras in Portuguese with subtitles. It also contained a link to an article on Mongabay from this month.

Even though this is the wrong Sub-forum, I should not write the above without providing the two links.

I've had this before, but I lost the text for different reasons. The solution is to use the full editor and click the "save draft" button as you go.

Cheers, Eric
