Hi Jools,

The title is self explanatory. As we've discussed before, CLOG edits go through a review process before updating. But as with my edits, I often don't see my own typos or mistakes, or think of additional changes, until after I see the confirmation email which shows what I submitted.

How difficult would it be to have a preview-before-submit feature for CLOG edits? (Like what we have for forum posts)

It already exists in so far as you are emailed the preview. The forum feature is different because only one person (the poster) is in control of the preview, edit, preview, post cycle.

If you're worried about the complexities of markup, you could use https://htmlcodeeditor.com/ or similar.

To answer another way, I am happy to take several edits, the system will just update three times and end up with the final one which is the one presumably you're happy with. This is simple for me (at least!) to work with.

I could build in the feature but I can't re-use the forum one, so would write it from scratch. It would take me a day or two I'd say. So, one of those "might be a while" projects.

Knowing that, what do ou think, do you still need a preview?

Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to avoid the need to make you (the reviewer) to be the first to see the problems. But now I appreciate the complexity of the fix, so I'll try the html viewer first, which may go a long way in solving my issues.

OK, thanks for understanding. Do let me know how you get on with the HTML viewer, and limitations of it or specific issues you find with that approach. Then I could build it into a reviewer if I ever "grow our own".
