Part of Species update list out of sight

Post by Marc van Arc »

What I already feared has just happened: the Cat-elog Species update list has got so many new entries lately that the part I was working on (Leiocassis/Mystus) has "fallen off" and is thus no longer visible to me.

I think the right solution here is to have a search function, as I suggested elsewhere.

After all, it's not "new species" we're looking for as such, but rather species that need to be updated, whether they are new, old or in between.

I've updated the admin species search so that we can search for
1. "Original genus = {yes, no, either}"
2. "Synonyms = {No synonyms, synonyms, either}"

Using the combination of "Original genus = no" and "No Synonyms" should list species that need synonyms added.

@Jools: In R537.

Thanks. I'll have a look at it, although not today.

Sure, but Jools hasn't said that he's uploaded it yet.

By the way: this relies on some data being available on the species. We probably should have an option of "sort by newness" as well, so that we can just display all species that are new in a list.

It's been uploaded, does that work?

I think the other solution to this would be to make the updates long list work with the updates over the last X days rather than the last X updates.
