Why isn't L003 = Baryancistrus longipinnis???

Post by Jools »

At a rough level, the white spotted Baryancistrus in the Rio Tocantins is the phantom species Baryancistrus longipinnis but also we have L003 which is, surprise surprise, a white spotted Baryancistrus from the Rio Tocantins.

Is there any reason (other than no ones really looked at it) why these two are not one and the same?

Cheers,

Jools
