The pair with the newly laid eggs
Got an unidentified Farlowella pair which spawned today, would be very helpful if anyone here could help me identify these two if possible.

Farlowella vittata
is the most common species in the trade. I can't see any reason why it isn't that species (although they are difficult to ID).

Congrats on breeding, and nice pictures too.

ID is Farlowella platorynchus.

And the eggs just started hatching last night, at least one of them so far so I guess the rest will follow.

Hi,

IMHO they are not F. vittata (rostrum too long) and not F. platorynchus (rostrum too short).
But don't ask me what they are...

Hi,

ok, if Norman says so then I'm probably wrong.
The overall pattern and also the patterns of the rostrum fits to F. platorynchus very well. Perhaps the length of the rostrum is a bit variable.

Some of those photos are very Cat-eLog worthy. Congrats on the spawn and congrats on the great photography.
Motorcycles are not an expensive hobby, try keeping L-cats in Australia
