L253 - how common (or not)?

Post by DHarris »

One of my bfs that i frequent for plecos has an l253 that I can't stop thinking about. Unfortunately it's a bit bigger than I think I'd like, roughly 7".

I currently have a lot of plecos all housed in a 150gallon. Though water quality is good and they all seem to get along fine, I am running low on prime hiding realestate for them.

My largest at the moment are a 7" rhino, 6" l27, 6" l128, a pair of 5" l1375 and a group of 4"-6" l75.
The rest are all small at the moment.

I've had small l14 in the past and have a 3" l48 now, which are extremely peaceful.

Debating trying this l253 or waiting in hopes of finding a smaller one. The store owner, who I trust, said he can usually get more of them but they're almost always large.

I'm curious how common these guys are. If I added this larger one, am I potentially getting myself into trouble with it bullying my other fish?
As I've never had an l253 any insight is appreciated.
