Getting L204s back into conditions

I just got 3 L204 () but they're definitely semi-starved. (The place I got them doesn't ever feed plecos correctly, and they were supposed to call me when they came in, but they called the wrong number and so the plecos sat in their care for a while.) I have them in a 55 gallon tank with lots of plants and an enormous section of driftwood. Everything has been set up for a while (the driftwood is newest at one month). The fish are mostly hanging around suctioned to the driftwood but they aren't looking any fatter. I've also thrown some algae wafers in the tank along with some vegetables softened in the microwave. It's hard to tell if that's being eaten by the plecos or the snails.

Any specific tips for trying to get these guys to eat?

Raw sweet potatoes sliced thin, with a potato peeler is also popular with them.
