Tank recommendations

Post by Missilemanatee »

Can anyone suggest a tank I can put my Cory in. He's currently in a smallish tank (I've taken him in due to family issues)

I know sand but is best so the mouth things don't get hurt.

Is bogwood okay? My
Exs pleco used to love his.

I Think I can fit a 10 gallon tank. Also since I think there community fish what would be best for company?

Corys are a schooling fish so keeping 4-6 or more of them is preferable. If you have sand that's good but fine gravel won't kill them. Bogwood is fine as well but they wont love it like plecos do. They do like plants as well if you have any of those. As to tankmates, most smaller peaceful fish like smaller tetras should co-habit relatively well.

Agree with getting more corys. The most peaceful tankmates I've encountered in my 25 years of fishkeeping are cherry barbs, who will not harass even the smallest fish or ever nip fins. In a small 10 gal. I would suggest 3 females and one male. They need plants for cover and spawning - artificial is okay with them.
