corydoras for fast water

I will be setting up a river tank for my L240 pleco, looking to see if there's a species of corydoras that would enjoy the current of the tank while also being comfortable in a 78-80F water temperature.

Is it possible?

Possibly a nice shoal of emerald brochis? Could they handle a current?

Hi MissNoodle,

Lots of corys enjoy some current, but "current" can be a lot or a little. I've been told that both

Corydoras(Ln5) pauciradiatus

and

Corydoras(Ln8sc4) robineae

both like more current than other species. But all species need some quiet areas for resting and feeding.

Have I shown you the Cory current in my 75 gal tank before or my pauciradiatus in my toilet flush tank? In hindsight, I'd tone the water current down some for the pauciradiatus. I had them in that tank for almost a year. But in that time I lost half of the pauciradiatus so I moved them to a quieter tank. They're doing fine in that, but aren't as fun to watch anymore.

Oh they do look like they're having fun! I keep my aeneus in a low current tank. Wonder how they'd like flow haha...

Was thinking if possible a species from Venezuela or Columbia as i am planning a biotope, mostly for the orinoco but I also have to plan with what I have available in Canada online stores as my stores are limited too.
Geez... that makes this harder haha.

C robinae could be a good suggestion. I once read the stripes in the tail suggest they need a lot of current.

C. metae are attractive and from the same sections of the Orinoco.
