Corydoras lighting

Please advise,i have set up a 30gallon planted cory tank in a bedroom,to be able to watch them at night i want to use t5 lighting for 2/3hours .if the tank gets natural light during the day ,say 8am to 4pm, how many hours can i use t5 lighting at night for.i want to keep them happy but would like to watch them during the night.(have trouble sleeping),can you suggest lighting schedule please.thank you.

The lighting schedule is really more dependent on the health of the plants than the fish. If the plants are healthy, there is no reason you could not use the lighting 2-3 hours at night. In the tropics, the photo period (daylight) is always 12 hours a day.
