C panda and S barbatus as roomies

Post by AndiH »

I'm just getting ready to enter the hobby again and of course want my 2 favorite catfish, C. panda and S. barbatus. I'm starting over totally so will have just one tank to start with, a 20 long. In anyone's experiences, are these compatible tank mates?

I would not combine them

S barbatus likes their watter cold, and rapidly moving. 12 C in winter and 18 in summer would be what I expect them to prefer.

C panda is more a normal Corydoras, preferring 24 C and slowly moving water.
