Well, I wanted to see them so I was trying to move the leaf and susswassertang aside. The one that I could see did a dive into the sand and disappeared. These are cool.

I called the LFS to see if they had the Latin name for the new cats but they didn't. Even tried checking the supplier's list. Did have a good chat though and we are leaning towards Akysis prashadi. They escaped out of the fry box and into the pleco tank so I had to remove all the branches and caves to find them. They are now in the 29g with the woodcats.

Are they from Cichlid Exchange? They had A. prashadi in October.

Yes, the LFS I acquired them from only stocks from Cichlid Exchange. Can you change thread titles? Could you correct the title on this thread to A. Prashadi. Please

Yes I can, and you can too by editing the OP title. But I'd rather not since it would make the other replies not make sense. For context, I'd prefer to leave it alone.

I did find where to edit the title and you are right it did confuse the responses.

After thinking more of your request, I made two changes: 1) I added a question mark to the title of the thread, to reflect your original uncertainty and your effort to confirm the ID, and 2) I moved the thread to the "What is my catfish?" forum.

I think those together do a fair effort to help with your concerns about the original title.

Moderator note: Now that the ID is settled (at least to genus), I've split the subject to the Asian Catfishes forum: My Akysis prashadi, random thoughts
