Abstract
Trichomycterus cachiraensis sp. nov., is a small catfish from the upper course of the Río Cáchira, Magdalena river basin, Departmento de Norte de Santander, Colombia. Trichomycterus cachiraensis sp. nov. differs from the other species of the genus by: anterior fontanel variably absent; posterior fontanel reduced to a small circular foramen, entirely located on the parieto-supraoccipital.
