Id This Pleco

Post by Mcasella »

This is one of three plecos i've gotten from a LFS, they were listed as chocolate zebra plecos. These are not from a breeder but a supplier, which has been known to switch up fish (like albino neon tetras instead of cardinal tetras or sending in h. strictus/bellotii instead of rummynose).
This one is brown to black in coloring when not stressed with cream colored markings.

Young Hypancistrus. Possibly (the chocolate zebra) or (the Columbian zebra).

For what it's worth, my debilittera are creamy yellow base color.

I'm going to have to pull and compare the other two now, this one I got for 16, the others for 17 (I was hoping they'd be l270 for later breeding - but with three i have a good chance for them breeding as long all three are the same species).

That is what I figured it was at judging by the picture. If you can get a picture from the side it may very well help.
