Chaetostoma dorsale...pinkish colored tail?

I have a Chaetostoma dorsale and I noticed his tail seems pinkish red, especially when he is hanging on the back of his tank (Fluval edge with a black back). I notice in some of the pictures on the species page the tail appears to have a reddish coloration. Is this common? Or is he a different species? Thanks!
