That's wonderful!

For me that causes the best feeling in keeping fish (or any other pet) when they reward all the work we do to keep them how they like it by giving us babies. Even if raising babies can cause headaches.
Regards.

Thanks all! The male kicked the eggs out after 24 hours. Sadly I lost all the eggs due to fungus. By a miracle one premature hatched larvae actually survived and is doing very well at the moment :d I'm not risking anything with this fry so no pictures at this moment but I will try something later this week as the yolk sack is almost gone :icon-wink:

The fry didn't like the stress of taking pictures and I started to think I had lost it... It wasn't eating and kept going up to the surface, pinching it's fins. Then I had a spawn of Sturisoma and added all the fry I could find to the same fryring as the L255 juvenile. It helped tremendously and the L255 juvenile started to feed and hide like it should.

And today, at almost 4 weeks old, it's doing great! Showing nice white spots :d

And even better news is that the adults have spawned again \:d/ So I get another chance at raising a few more youngsters if all goes well.

Great move with the Sturisoma fry and really interesting to see that tactic worked.

It was a first for me too. I needed to let the single fry feel safe and I know from raising Sturisoma fry that they learn to feed from other siblings. So it was just worth a shot and it worked :-BD

Hatching day for the L255 eggs this morning :d

Note that the fry already show some colour even prior to hatching. Something I have noticed while breeding ranunculus type species.

I use normal tapwater (Ph 7 Kh 3 conductivity around 300 microsiemens), no rain or osmoses water.
Due to my job I try to do as many water changes as I can. I try every 5-7 days and then change about 75%.
